ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- This year, Viaport Rotterdam opened a new wax museum for spooky season. The Via House of Horrors is located down the hall from Via Aquarium and across the hall from the Shoe Dept. and Do You Believe. The horror-themed museum features wax figures in several rooms with settings and decorations to match the character. Characters include Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Exorcist, and more.“It’s the perfect place to get into the mood for spooky season and makes for some great photo opportunities,” said Hunter Werner with Via Aquarium. SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two Schenectady men were arrested following a joint investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies. John O. Alston, 49, and Chester C. Jones, 45, are being held at the Schenectady County Correctional Facility without bail. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! On October 4, police located a vehicle in Schenectady that they believed was involved in their investigation. Police later executed a search warrant at a residence on Eleanor Street and seized multiple controlled substances, stolen property, and two illegally possessed handguns. Alston and Jones were located inside the residence and arrested.The two suspects were processed at SP Princetown. The Department of Justice’s Office of Civil Rights has referred for federal criminal investigation the allegation that Colorado Springs police used excessive force in the violent arrest of a Black man last year, according to a letter released Monday by that man’s attorneys.The criminal referral, made last week by Michael Alston, director of the DOJ’s Office of Civil Rights, comes two months after the Colorado Springs Police Department announced an internal investigation had found officers did not use excessive force while arresting 29-year-old Dalvin Gadson in October 2022.“By referring this case for criminal investigation, the Department of Justice is putting these officers on notice,” Kevin Mehr, one of Gadson’s attorneys, said in a news release. “The CSPD may not take brutality seriously, but the DOJ does.”Representatives of the Colorado Springs Police Department were not immediately available for comment Monday.Alston’s letter states Gadson filed a ...Broncos stock report: A couple of impressive undrafted rookies, but troubling performances all around in trenches for Denver

Los Angeles County fire crews were battling a commercial fire in Irwindale Monday morning.The blaze was reported around 10:35 a.m. at 1418 E. Arrow Highway, according to the Fire Department.The initial emergency call went out as a possible explosion, though that has not been confirmed, officials said.Heavy smoke was visible from the blaze as Sky5 was overhead. By 11:30 a.m. much of the smoke had dissipated and flames were no longer visible. A clerk was fatally shot while confronting two suspected theives at a West Covina liquor store Sunday night, police said. The shooting was reported at Big Bob's Liquor and Market at about 8:45 p.m. in the 1400 block of West Puente Avenue.One person was shot and killed at a liquor store in West Covina on Oct. 8, 2023. (KTLA)Officers arrived to find the 34-year-old employee suffering from gunshot wounds outside the store. The unidentified victim was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. 34-Year-Old Rider Critically after Vehicle Collision near Cameron StreetLAS VEGAS, NV (October 10, 2023) – On Tuesday evening, multiple people were injured following a crash near Flamingo Road and Cameron Street.It happened just before 9:50 p.m., October 3rd, involving a BMW 1000RR motorcycle and a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV.According to the LVMPD, the motorcycle was driven by a 34-year-old man with a 23-year-old passenger, and the Chevy was occupied by two people.Upon investigation, the LVMPD stated that the rider was driving recklessly and at high speeds westbound on Flamingo Road when he slammed into the Chevy headed east, and made a left turn at Arville Street.Furthermore, the paramedics transported the motorcyclist and his passenger to the UMC Trauma Unit with severe and critical injuries.
